Caletta Renewable Energy ("Caletta") is engaged in the business of project development and the application of advanced technology for the conversion of biomass and waste materials for energy generation and/or fuel production.
Caletta is a partnership between Palmer Paving Corporation (PPC) and Barletta Engineering.
Palmer Paving Corporation ("PPC") is the owner of the proposed site in Springfield, MA for the PRE biomass-to-power project. PPC will focus on strategies for project planning, facility design and permitting for all phases of the project. PPC executives have specific experience in waste remediation technologies and in all phases of permitting, and construction in the Commonwealth. PPC will assist Barletta with the application of the fluidized bed technology with specific reference to the biomass waste streams that are available on and near at their site in Springfield on a daily basis.
Barletta Engineering ("Barletta") is a Canton, MA based company. Barletta will be involved in providing engineering, procurement and construction services, along with associated mechanical completion guarantees and bonding, for the PRE project. With over 80 years of experience and 250 employees, Barletta has established a reputation for completing general construction, environmental remediation, and power plant construction projects to owner specifications, while maintaining established time and budget stipulations. Barletta's projects range in complexity and diversity. They include construction of light rail, water and wastewater treatment plants, highways and bridges, police stations and libraries, traditional and alternative fuel for power generation, as well as remediation of contaminated sites and solid waste management facility construction. The Barletta Engineering staff includes more than 15 project managers, engineers and engineering technicians; 25 construction managers, project superintendents and assistant superintendents; and over 100 field personnel including field engineers, equipment operators, laborers, masons and carpenters. Currently, Barletta Engineering schedules nearly $250 million in contracts annually with values ranging from $5 million to $100 million.
